The weather had me working!

I had John And Jenna out for some trout fishing this morning. With the wind howling at 10 knots at daybreak, I had my concerns about putting them on good fish. We took off upriver at 6:30 am, and after a pretty long ride we arrived at spot #1. We anchored up sent out a couple of shrimp and Bang, Bang both floats down and quick! Two nice speckled trout in the box, re-bait, back out and down they go again! A small trout and another beauty!. Then the wind and current got us all twisted around and out of position. I decided to change areas, and we were on the fish once again!

The action stayed great for the next hour, until someone came up on us and drove right over our spot!, almost running over our floats!

I never can understand how people can do that kind of stuff?

Anyway we continued catching nice trout only a little more sporadically. All in all a great day!

Final tally was 15 kept trout from 17" to 19 1/2" with 8 fish being between 19 and 19 1/2"! We released at least that many trout that were keeper sized. And we lost quite a few on the way to the boat. Using light wire circle hooks, you seem to lose some fairly well hooked fish. We also boated assorted Ladyfish and Bluefish. They went home to Atlanta with a big fish fry in mind. 2 overflowing 1 gallon bags of fillets....Now thats gonna be delicious!
This was Johns 40th birthday present from Jenna.

Happy 40th John!
