A big fish day!

I had Clayton and Mark aboard today. We were under the threat of rain all morning, but it never happened. Things started fast and slowed down just as fast. As Clayton and Mark picked up a few fish which were all nice, I tried some topwater. I caught 2 nice trout the bigger one about 3 1/2 lbs. Then Clayton ties into a whopper! After several drag smoking runs and a lot of dogging, we put a awesome 7 lb. gator in the net!

I go back to topwater and catch another trout, and like the time before the guys tie into another smoker! After the big runs and plenty drag pulling we put the net under a 6 1/2 lber! What a start!

As per before, I go back to topwater and Wham! A huge boil and fish on just burning the drag! And after a 20 foot run he pops off! I think it was a big red, actually I hope it was a big red, but I suspect it was an absolute monter trout........The only way I can console myself is to keep saying it was a red.

The guys continued to pick up one nice trout after the next. We got down to 1 more fish for the box with shrimp running low and very tiny, and the boys pull out a double to end the day! What a great time we had.

Now is the time to catch the trout of a lifetime!

Our final tally was: 15 keepers from 17"- 27"with only 2 @ 17 the rest were fat 19" fish.
